Sensius strengthens product development with appointment of Franziska Hartmann as Product Owner for Treatment Planning Software

Sensius B.V., a pioneer in precision thermotherapy for oncology, is pleased to announce the appointment of Franziska Hartmann as Product Owner for its Treatment Planning Software.

Franziska joins Sensius with a strong background in medical software development, numerical simulation, and algorithm design, with a particular focus on regulated medical device environments. Since 2019, she has been responsible for the development of simulation software for deep hyperthermia applications as a certified medical device, including leading the development of its mathematical core and overseeing key processes such as risk management, IT security, and software validation in collaboration with clinical partners.

She brings extensive hands-on experience with medical software development standards (including DIN EN 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 81001-5-1 and ISO 13485), as well as end-to-end responsibility for technical documentation across the full product lifecycle. In addition, she has played a leading role in agile development processes, including sprint planning and backlog management.

Franziska holds an M.Sc. in Computational Engineering (Mathematics) and a B.Sc. in Mathematics, with a strong foundation in numerical modelling, partial differential equations, and simulation. Her earlier experience includes algorithm development, CAD-based modelling, and academic work in biomedical imaging and wave propagation modelling.

In her new role, Franziska will lead the further development and optimisation of Sensius’ treatment planning software, a critical component of its thermotherapy platform. Her work will focus on enhancing precision, usability, and integration into clinical workflows, supporting the delivery of highly targeted and personalised cancer treatments.

Her appointment comes at a pivotal time as Sensius advances its clinical programmes and prepares for broader international deployment.
