Deep HT

We developed a system for thermotherapy for deep seated tumors. Our system allows controlled heating of the target region, while at the same time preserving the surrounding tissue and organs. We call this ‘controlled focus’.

This is achieved by technological means – number of antennas; water bolus; applied signals (using phase-shifts and amplitude variance) – by using a tailored process.

The process consists of five consecutive steps:

  • patient scanning (MRI or CT);
  • 3D model generation;
  • treatment set-up optimization, and;
  • simulation & optimization.
  • the actual treatment of the patient.

In our system we are able to act upon feedback by the patient. When the patient experiences too much heat, the system can be optimized interactively, in real time.
